THE NEW LAW ON MODEL AGENCIES
WARNING: There are
many Modeling and Acting Agencies that will rip you off!
Models and Actors alike have been warned time and time again about
unscrupulous agencies charging up front fees for registering or applying
for castings and assignment.
Thankfully our Government has take action to offer greater protection to those struck by the idea of stardom.
From this week (12/11/2009) it will become illegal for an agency to
charge a model or actor to find them work. The law is now inline with the protection offered to
applicants looking to register with a high street employment agency.
If you are asked to hand over any money to a Modeling or Actor Agency
you must report this Make a complaint about an agency.
Please also understand
that there will be loop-holes in the new law that will be exploited by the
unscrupulous agency still operating so DO NOT let your guard down.
